About Us

At Safari Mindset Services, we believe that caring for ourselves and creating safer spaces for others we encounter is a journey, hence the name Safari, which means journey in Swahili.

It is a brave step to seek support in the process of change and growth. This is a journey that requires us to employ humility, grace, and the values for self and the collective. It also requires us to courageously explore history, experiences from the present and hope for the future. I am honoured to step into this journey with you to identify what you need in your exploration, change and growth.

What we do

At Safari Mindset, we provide tailored advice, assessment, and opportunities to businesses and organizations who are ready to evaluate and ensure that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism is upheld in their organization's culture. We work closely with People and Culture/ Human Resources units in relation to inclusive policies, pay equity, training strategies and performance management and evaluation. We also provide as needed advice and guidance on a case-by-case basis, although we will work to support you in being more proactive. Safari Mindset offers one-on-one coaching to executives and leaders in organizations. Our methods are grounded in a decolonial, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed framework.

Safari Mindset offers therapy and coaching to individuals and couples, under our Therapeutic Services pillar. We support people from age 16 and above to process, manage and heal from anxiety, racial trauma, family dynamics, relationship and parenting challenges. We have a specialty in working with racialized women, bi-racial couples, folks dealing with workplace stressors, and life transitions.

We utilize a wholistic lens to uniquely support your growth, whether through consulting, leadership coaching, therapy or during speaking engagements. We look forward to sharing space and promising practices with you.

“As you look inward with grace and intentionality, you can disrupt and change unhelpful dynamics and generational patterns. Let’s grow together!”

-Jamila Ahmed

A Humanistic Approach

As a social Equity consultant, Jamila incorporates a humanistic lens that is anti-oppressive, wholistic, trauma-informed and anti-racist to support organizations in building their capacities for institutional change and growth.

We work together in identifying gaps, aligning goals with values, assessing policies and practices, developing action plans, learning through awareness training series and co-learning workshops, creating safer/braver workplaces, facilitating effective meetings, and building sustainability plans. Sessions take place in-person and virtually, depending on needs and availability.
